Viberift is a first of a kind multiplayer, music driven, action arcade, flying game. It reimagines some of the classic musical game mechanics and puts them in the 3D environment of a fast paced, dog fight-styled gameplay.
“Sound” is the word that defines Viberift for it is created to work with sound. Many aspects of the game depend on the music you are running. Every audio track generates different outcomes in terms of actual gameplay and in order to survive the ever-changing world of Viberift, you’ll need not only skill and adaptability but also a good sense of music.
A complex real time, audio analyzer constitutes the heart of the game. It has been designed to “read” any given music track and identify a large amount of its elements. This allows us to create a great variety of weapons, abilities and enemy behaviours, each of them governed by a different frequency band or aspect of the music.
How well you do in Viberift will rely on the synergy between your music sense and your flying skills. A multiplayer mode will allow you to test your skills against other people in a set of open-world arenas and in a variety of game modes (in PvP) or it will cast you against AI-controlled Viborg swarms in massive, cooperative arena battles (in PvE).
At a later stage we will be introducing a single player campaign, which follows a female human pilot in her struggle against an alien aggressor. It will guide you through a set of levels - each with a specific environment, objectives and enemies. You will be able to explore the world of Viberift and take part in a captivating narrative.
In Viberift we strive to reintroduce some of the classic, for the genre, mechanics, seen through the prism of a music driven game. A dynamic control system will allow you to employ various evasive manoeuvers, change between horizontal and vertical plane of flight or simply accelerate to the speed of pure awesomeness. An in-depth customization system will give you the possibility to upgrade your ships’ stats, weapons or appearance. A special ability mode/power-up system will spice up your playthroughs/arena battles, giving you the benefit of unpredictability.
The Viborg are a mechanical creatures created by and modelled after a long extinct race of vibrational beings. Their only energy source is mechanical vibration, thus, to survive the soundless vacuum of space, they decompose every piece of matter they come across, feeding upon its vibrations. Shortly before the first attack, the humans manage to replicate some of the Viborg's technology and implement it in a handful of individuals. Thanks to our race's natural ability to make use of higher and more complex organizations of sound, those bio-augmented pilots are able to draw massive amounts of energy from... er... their favourite music, becoming far superior fighters than the Viborgs’. Nonetheless, we are fighting a lost war and our last, lingering hope lies within Vihra.
At the start of each arena/level you’ll be confronted with a choice – play with our default track list or load your own music. Whatever your choice is, however, know this – in Viberift a track can make you or break you. Choose wisely.
